Iris is dealing with debilitating back pain and asked for prayer. Heather recently had a stoke and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She has many surgeries ahead of her but was very thankful for those who prayed for her. Many of our honored guests are dealing with huge health issues. We are very thankful to be able to take these needs to our Great, Almighty, Healing God!
Ellen was in prison. As a young mother she witnessed her husband abusing her small children. She felt helpless to stop it and cried out to God for her children’s protection. A teacher at school discovered their secret. Her husband went to prison, but so did Ellen. For the next four years she only saw her children when they came with their social worker once a month. As time neared for her to be released, a volunteer at the prison told her about WLFJ. Each week she would come to WLFJ to shop but on Saturdays she would come to serve.
Help us feed and provide holiday blessings to more than 4,000 families before Christmas by supporting one of our golfers! We will have a golf marathon on November 29th, and you can pledge money that will go towards providing food and clothing to out honored guests.
Cedar Productions Studio did their annual fundraiser and tithed from their proceeds to WLFJ. They decided to take the tithe and purchase needed food items to bless our Johnston County outreach. As the volunteer was shopping for the food, she miscalculated the amount of goods she could purchase and at the checkout had to set a large number of items aside. As she and the cashier were chatting, she shared that she was buying it for WLFJ. The lady in line behind her told her to keep the items and she would pay for them. We received nearly double what we should have as a result of God’s amazing redeeming of a “mistake” and blessing back Cedar Productions Studio for being a vessel of blessing to us.
A volunteer text me on Christmas Eve to thank me for being obedient to the
Lord to expand into Johnston County. She served on the 21st, our last day
before Christmas. Her family has experienced many difficult things. She said
that as she served others and listened to the beautiful good news of the Gospel,
she experienced a fresh understanding of the deep love of God in her own life
Millie is a long-term honored guest in Raleigh. We see her great need and our
hearts are moved for her difficult place. In June, she came to the Johnston County
facility. She was needing surgery for a brain tumor. She was also on oxygen and
the doctors said her breathing had to improve before she could have surgery.
Millie’s prayer request was also for a church family. One of the volunteers on that
visit realized that Millie lived near one of her church members. She connected
them and Millie has been attending her church since that day.
Two volunteers met before we opened to pray for each other. As they
continued to pray, God led them to pray over that day’s outreach, for our
honored guests coming in, and for the Holly Spirit God to minister through
His people to our community. Five people received Christ, one was a lady
very steeped in a cult. God loves honoring the prayers of His people!
